Nike’s Month of Air culminates on Air Max Day, March 26, with continued special in-store events and parties. Also celebrating the 30th Anniversary of Nike Air, some of these Air Max Day activations include:
Vapormax Launch at Centre Pompidou in Paris: Nike will display a new film using projection-mapping on the exterior of the building that inspired the Air Max 1’s visible Air-sole design, the Centre Pompidou. The film, being shown on March 25, features a new song by French rapper, Joke, titled “Vision.”
Nike Soho Services: Nike Soho will launch Nike Air Vapormax along with elevated services throughout the day, including curated runs to trial the shoe and Air Max-themed customization opportunities at the Nike By NYC studio.
SNEAKEASYs in North America: In New York at the Nike+ Clubhouse (March 20-26) and Los Angeles (May 25-26), Chicago (March 25) and Toronto (March 25) at surprise locations, Nike is offering limited releases, NIKEiD customization, interactive displays and art installations at SNEAKEASYs. The New York experience includes a Department of Nike Archives Air Max genealogy display, the Toronto experience includes interactive displays created by six Toronto visionaries (curated by Director X), the Chicago experience includes local art installations inspired by “air” and “vapor” and the Los Angeles experience includes products from the NIKEiD Printing Press.
Lightshow at Palazzo Turati in Milan: Palazzo Turati in Milan will be the site of a lightshow, art installations, run clubs and multiple musical performances on Air Max Day.
AIRbulance in Berlin: Throughout the week, an “AIRbulance” has been transporting a lucky few to receive product at an “AIRstream.” It will continue to do so on Air Max Day. The store OVERKILL will open with Air Max Day product on March 26 and provide live music and food for guests.
Nike Moscow Opening: Nike’s newest transformation in sport retail opens in Moscow on Air Max Day. Located in the heart of Moscow on Kuznetsy Most street, the five-story, multi-sport, 23,455-square-foot store includes a Nike+ Running Trial Zone (ground floor), Nike+ Football Trial Zone (basement floor) and Personalization areas (all floors) for product customization. Products available include the new Nike Air Vapormax, Nike Air Max 1 Master, Nike Air Max 1 Ultra 2.0 LE and Nike Air Max 1 Premium Retro (Atmos).
Vapormax Launch at Sakıb Sabancı Muzesi in Istanbul: On March 25, the Sakıb Sabancı Muzesi museum in Istanbul will host a special Vapormax reveal event and party. On Air Max Day, there will be runs around the city.
Air Max Day Event in Bangkok: A secret location in Bangkok will host an exclusive magazine launch and accessories project on Air Max Day, in addition to musical performances and runs.
Air Max House in Sao Paulo: The Air Max House is hosting a live VJing competition, live performances, a Brasilian Football talk and a “Rebel Run” to launch Vapormax on Air Max Day.
NIKEiD at Niketown London: Consumers will be able to use Nike Air emojis – Airmojis – to customize product on Air Max Day. Style workshops will give consumers the opportunity to leverage curated looks styled by the city for the city. Airmojis are also available online at nike.com.
Nike Huaihai in Shanghai: The Nike Huaihai Brand Experience store has been transformed into an interactive Kiss My Airs hub designed to look like a record store. Consumers test designs in the Customization Zone, which features 40 T-shirt personalization options. Activations will continue through Air Max Day.
